Part 1
It was my distinct privilege to engage in an insightful conversation with Ms. Nikki Check, a candidate vying for the esteemed position of Yavapai County Supervisor in District 3, an administrative jurisdiction encompassing municipalities such as Sedona, Cottonwood, Clarkdale, Jerome, among others.
Ms. Check elaborated comprehensively on the duties and responsibilities intrinsic to the role of a Yavapai County Supervisor, shedding light on the nuances and intricacies that characterize this pivotal position.
Furthermore, Ms. Check expounded upon the robust financial acumen requisite for the effective execution of the responsibilities incumbent upon this office.
In articulating the rationale underpinning her candidacy, Ms. Check underscored her deep-rooted connection to Yavapai County, having been born and raised within its confines. Additionally, she highlighted her instrumental role in the inception of the Southwest Wine Center, a testament to her commitment to fostering community engagement and cultural enrichment.
Emphatically, Ms. Check avowed her steadfast commitment to not merely maintaining an accessible stance but to proactively engender a more inclusive and engaging rapport with constituents. Through proactive outreach initiatives, Ms. Check aims to transcend conventional paradigms of engagement, fostering a dynamic and responsive dialogue with the populace.
Part 2
With a deep-rooted connection to Yavapai County, Ms. Check proudly asserts her heritage, having been born, educated, and now raising her own family within the county. Her educational journey post-high school included studies in agriculture and farming at Yavapai College and Prescott College, knowledge which she later applied to play a pivotal role in the establishment of Southwest Wine Center.
Her public service record is marked by a significant tenure as a council member in the town of Jerome, where, propelled by the highest number of votes for a council position, she ascended to the mayoralty at the notably young age of 28.
Ms. Check touched upon the ownership of the Dells and Cultural Park and how the County can work with the City of Sedona to achieve their goals.
Ms. Check also took the opportunity to address her opponent's statements regarding the Dells, highlighting that while Donna Michaels has claimed to have definitive plans for the area, such decisions actually fall under the jurisdiction of the city and require further approval from the Yavapai County Supervisors and the Planning and Zoning Committee.
Part 3
In a stunning turn of events, the community's endorsements have shifted in favor of Nikki Check, the aspiring candidate for Yavapai County Supervisor. As a reporter, it is my duty to shed light on the overwhelming support pouring in for Nikki Check from various prominent figures in the region.
During my recent conversation with Nikki, I was struck by the impressive array of endorsements she has garnered, especially from esteemed politicians in the vicinity. Notable endorsements for Nikki Check include:
- Sedona Mayor, Scott Jablow
- Sedona Vice Mayor, Holli Ploog
- Sedona City Council Candidates, Kathy Kinsella and Derek Pfaff
- Clarkdale Mayor, Robyn Prud'homme Bauer
- Jerome Mayor, Alex Barber
- Cottonwood Vice Mayor, Debbie Wildon
- Former Yavapai Supervisor, Randy Garrison, & his wife, Debe

In the spirit of fairness and transparency, I conducted an interview with Nikki Check a few days ago, holding off on its release to provide Incumbent Yavapai County Supervisor, Donna Michaels, an equal opportunity to showcase her own endorsements.
Despite my efforts to secure an interview with Michaels, she has regrettably chosen to withdraw from the opportunity before the upcoming July 30th election, missing the chance to present her endorsements to the public. I emphasized to Michaels and her Campaign Media Director the significance of meeting the deadline, given the impending election date.
